Fix profile issues when downgrading Chrome browser

If you ever try to go from a less-stable version of Google Chrome browser to a more stable one, say, from the Beta channel to the Stable channel, this often corresponds to downgrading the Chrome version.

As a result, your profile data will not be compatible after you make the switch. Immediately after you open the newly installed (more stable) version, you will get a warning that your profile could not be opened correctly.

An easy way to fix this, that also works on Mac OS, constitutes deleting all previous profile data and starting afresh. Of course, once you sign in to your Google account again, your synced data will be restored. Here is the solution:

In the newly installed Chrome, go to menu, and then choose Settings. Then under Sign in section, pick Disconnect your Google account. Finally, under Users section, pick Delete this user.

That is it. Now your have a fresh version of Chrome. You should be prompted for your Google credentials now.
